I enjoyed a mostly lovely week off at the end of March, but unfortunately I’ve been looking after a very poorly kitty most of these past two weeks. My brain is fried right now, so it’s a short newsletter today.
It’s officially British Summer Time here, and though it was a dodgy start of weeks of rain and strong winds, spring has finally made its presence visibly known and we’ve had some GORGEOUS days of sunshine this past week which are now lasting well into the evening <3. Which I’m eternally grateful for as it’s been such a mood boost. I missed celebrating the spring equinox and I’ve barely been outside to be honest. Looking forward to a healed kitty and proper time in the sun and fresh air.
See you again next time,

I’ve fallen off the horse a bit and only managed to get one oil pastel painting done in the past few weeks.

Where the Leaves Fall
This past two week’s newsletters have been on learning about fermentation and the arrival of spring and its colours.
I’m excited for the bright, primary colours of spring and summer to return once again. It’s funny; in my personal style, I’m the opposite. My wardrobe is mostly black, and in art I love moodier settings and subdued colours. I notice that, thanks to the Instagram grid which lays it out so well, I've tend to go through phases in my photography; my own little blue period. I’m curious to no end how the colours of nature can affect our moods and feelings so deeply. Yesterday evening, during one of the first visible sunsets since the clocks changed, I stood in front of a collection of magnolia trees and berry bushes and was mesmerised by the explosion of colours: pink, purple, orange, yellow, lime green – it was an instant dopamine hit.

The cover artist is confirmed. I’ve just had a draft through of the text for the book. Mock-ups are being made. The book is visually coming together, and it’s such an amazing feeling to see it happening! The next few weeks will be focusing a lot on logistics, and I’ve got some more exciting news to share later on.
